JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Members of Leadership Johns Creek (LJC) “Team Creek Connectors” will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Apr. 12 to celebrate the completion of their group project, the development of Newtown Park’s community garden.
“Team Creek Connectors” is a group of business and healthcare professionals, public safety officials, school administrators and community advocates who collaborated to launch a project that would promote healthy living and wellness in Johns Creek. The
garden expansion at Newtown Park will enhance access to community-based food production for residents and senior communities.
The group worked with Johns Creek city officials and Parks and Recreation staff to create 11 new plots in the community garden. The expansion will help reduce the growing waitlist for residents submitting applications to the Johns Creek Garden Association to
acquire a garden plot.
Team Creek Connectors collected funds and in-kind donations for the project from major contributors and community partners including: Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Precision Landscape Management and Green Brothers Earthworks.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the Newtown Park community garden expansion will be held on Apr. 12 from 12 – 1:30 p.m. at 3150 Old Alabama Road, in Johns Creek.
