Gardens Reopen on Saturday, February 18
Gibbs Gardens’ much anticipated spectacular daffodil display is several weeks ahead of schedule this year. With the mild weather and unseasonably warm temperatures, spring has sprung at Gibbs Gardens. We invite you to join us for our 2017 Daffodil COLORFEST. Now through March, view over 20 Million Blooms that cover 50+ acres of the 220 acres of gardens. Like liquid sunshine, myriad daffodils blanket rolling hillsides and fields, flow along streams and border woodlands, creating a panorama of blossoms, ranging in color from primrose-yellow to yellow, saffron, gold, orange, blush pink, white and cream. Each year since 1987, Jim Gibbs has added new varieties while existing plantings of daffodils continue to multiply and divide. There are now 1000’s of cultivars to view, including early, mid and late blooming types. Fragrant varieties fill the air with their sweet scent.
“Here Comes the Sun,” Southern Living magazine calls Gibbs Gardens’ Daffodil Gardens, “the most spectacular display of blooms this side of Holland . . . the most stunning daffodil gardens ever!” Gibbs Gardens is a certified American Daffodil Society Display Garden, one of only 25 represented by 15 different states.
During the six-week Daffodil COLORFEST, hundreds of dogwoods and ornamental cherry trees provide a flowering canopy for forsythia, spiraea and quince to create nature’s own spring bouquet.
The Arbor Café offers delicious sandwiches, salads and desserts and is open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. You won’t want to miss the Seasons gift store with a fabulous selection of all new merchandise, including many garden ornaments.
