The Alpharetta Business Association (ABA) is presenting a Post 2 Council Member Candidate Forum on Wednesday, October 25 from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. in Council Chambers located in Alpharetta City Hall at 2 Park Plaza. Ben Burnett and Ben Easterling are the two candidates vying for the Post 2 Council seat. The current Council Member for Post 2, Mike Kennedy, is not seeking reelection. The Post 2 Council Member position is the only contested seat in the City Council election. Both candidates will participate in the Forum that will feature opening statements from each candidate as well as a question and answer section.
The Forum is free and open to the public. This event is independently presented by the ABA and has no affiliation to the City of Alpharetta aside from the free use of the room for a public information event.
“The Candidate Forum will give the voters the only opportunity to see the Post 2 candidates discuss the issues and answer questions on the same stage,” said John Ray, President of the Alpharetta Business Association. “Since the ABA represents businesses in the City, we feel it’s important to present this event to the community and allow the candidates the opportunity to communicate their ideas especially on issues that impact businesses.”
The election will be held on Tuesday, November 7 and is open to all registered voters in the City of Alpharetta at their regular polling locations. For more information about the election, contact the Alpharetta City Clerk.
