Autrey Mill Middle School students serve on State Superintendent's Middle School Advisory Council

8th grader Luke Michaelis and 7th grader Nathan Cohen complete year of service with Georgia State Superintendent Richard Woods

8th grader Luke Michaelis and 7th grader Nathan Cohen recently completed a year of service on State Superintendent Richard Woods' Middle School Advisory Council. This is Michaelis' second year of service on the council. The council meets several times throughout the year downtown to discuss how decisions made at the state level are affecting students throughout Georgia. Members of the council are advisors that act as liaisons between the Department of Education and the students of Georgia. Members are chosen by a committee of Georgia Department of Education representatives. Past topics discussed include the school dropout rate, student leadership, communication/messaging, the Georgia graduation rule, testing, school climate, and career, technical, and agricultural education. Congratulations on representing Autrey Mill Middle School well in the 2016-2017 school year.
