The celebration begins at 4 p.m. and will fill the downtown streets with various attractions: musical performances, Santa and Mrs. Claus, the Christmas Farmers Market, food trucks and more! The event is free to attend for all.
The fun starts at 4 p.m. with pre-event festivities including free visits and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Gazebo. Have fun in the snow playground or roast marshmallows around the fire on Old Roswell Street. Kids can enjoy free children’s crafts, face painting, balloon twisting and much more. Plan to have dinner or enjoy warm beverages from the downtown businesses and food trucks, or get some extra shopping in as you browse the Alpharetta Christmas Farmers Market as local vendors display locally-made products for all of your holiday treasures and gifts.
Alpharetta Community groups will present Christmas programs on the large stage which will be filled with great music, exciting performances and lots of fun for the whole family. The Alpharetta holiday tradition continues as Mayor David Belle Isle reads the children’s classic book, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.
Lighting of the Tree
Around 6:15 p.m., the 45-foot live spruce tree will be lit with 10,000 white lights illuminating downtown Alpharetta with sparkle and enchantment.
The Christmas Tree Lighting and festivities are free to the public. Free parking is available at Alpharetta City Hall Parking Deck (2 Park Plaza) and Milton Center (the old Milton High School).
Christmas festivities do not end with the tree lighting. Come cheer on your favorite team as this year’s SEC Championship game will be broadcast LIVE on the big screen beginning at 4 p.m. Shop with downtown merchants during the Alpharetta Christmas Farmers Market. The surrounding stores will stay open so moms and dads can get some extra holiday shopping in. Stroll the shops and sites, and take in the holiday cheer that will fill the area.
