CUMMING, Georgia (November 3, 2017) - Save The Horses (www.savethehorses.org) will be the beneficiary of a Hoops for Horses fundraiser on Sunday, November 12th, at Save the Horses Rescue at 1768 Newt Green, Cumming, GA 30028 from 3PM to 5PM.
Sophia, a bright young 4th grader announced to her parents that she does not want gifts for her upcoming tenth birthday. Instead, she would like to raise money for Cumming based, Save the Horses, a non-profit horse rescue that she frequently visits. From her engagement with their rescued horses, she learned about the rescue’s struggle to feed and provide medical care for its 100 rescued horses and 30 other animals.
HOOPS FOR HORSES
Sophia connected with a local non-profit organization called Kids Boost (www.kidsboost.org) which armed her with $100 in startup funding, a fundraising web page, basic education on event planning, and a coach to help her implement her event.
The fundraising event titled Hoops for Horses, combines Sophia’s love of horses, basketball and hoola hoops. Friends, family, and the general public are invited to Save the Horses for an afternoon of fun, pony rides, barn tours, petting zoo (animals include mini horses, goats, pigs, sheep, turkeys, ducks, chickens and a cow named Rosie), hoola hoop dancing, a raffle and more! Tickets for activities and snacks will be sold at the event and will benefit Save The Horses. All activities will range from $1 - $5.
If you cannot join us but would like to help Sophia reach her goal, please head to https://kidsboost.org/kids-project/sophia-j/
“We are bowled over not only by Sophia’s generosity but her incredible drive to help. She is an inspiration not only to myself and other children, but also to other adults as well.” Says Cheryl Flanagan Founder of Save The Horses.
This is a rain or shine event. If it rains, all the fun will be moved under a covered arena.
