The St. James United Methodist Church of Alpharetta was honored with a monumental pre-kick off of the 150th Anniversary week with an official Proclamation from the city of Alpharetta by Mayor David Belle Isle at the Alpharetta City Hall on last Monday, August 28th, 2017.
The St. James UMC's 150th Anniversary celebration will continue with a special presentation of the historical marker at Kimball Bridge at 1:30pm, September 6th, and then Saturday, September 9th, a special 150th Family Reunion Celebration will be held at the Wills park from 10am-2pm.
The festivities will conclude with a finale on Sunday, September 10th featuring Guest Speaker Rev. Dr. Marvin A. Moss, (former St. James UMC Senior Pastor presently serving as Senior Pastor of Salem UMC, Harlem, NY), at 8am and 11am services which will include a "150th Anniversary Balloon Release".
St. James invites all members of the community, surrounding cities and counties, and media to come celebrate our history in the community of Alpharetta and North Fulton by visiting the St. James 150th Anniversary Museum from now through September 24th located in rooms 102/104.
