Jay is a Roswell High School and University of Georgia Graduate. After graduation from UGA he worked as Assistant Coach with the Lady Gym Dogs coaching the uneven bars and handling all the recruiting. He served as Head Coach at Georgia from 2009 - 2012 when he went to LSU as Associated Head Coach where he coaches all events with emphasis on the uneven bars. 2011 Clark was named Ninth-Best Recruiter in College Athletics by ESPN The Magazine. Some awards include: 2001 USAG State of Georgia Coach of The Year; 2006 Southeast Region Assistant Coach of The Year; 2006 National Assistant Coach of The Year; 2013 & 2014 Central Region Co-Assistant Coach of The Year; 2017 NCAA Assistant Coach of The Year. Clark is highly respected as a coach, recruiter and a strong voice in the sport of women's gymnastics. During his 20 years on UGA's coaching staff he helped guide the Gym Dogs to seven NCAA National Titles and fourteen Southeastern Conference Championships. As Head Coach for the Gym Dogs 2009 - 2012 he lead the Gym Dogs to 64 All-American honors; 7 individual titles on bars; captured three NCAA individual national championships. In 2012 his Gym Dogs won The Bulldog Cup which recognizes the UGA Team that excels academically. He joined the LSU Fighting Tigers Staff in 2012 as Associate Head Coach where he has made a tremendous impact on the program assisting in shattering all school records in meet attendance, sponsorships, performance and achievements. LSU has attained the honor of appearing in the Super Six in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017; and held the National Ranking of Number 2 for the entire season in 2016 and 2017. 2017 NCAA Finals LSU finished as Runner Up (number 2 spot).
