William & Reed Academy, a fully accredited private school in Johns Creek, competed in Varsity Tennis for the first time in school history this spring season. The Varsity Tennis team consisted of both boys and girls.
Throughout the tennis season, William & Reed Academy competed against well-respected competitors including Mount Pisgah, Mill Springs, Dominion Christian School, Bethlehem Christian, and Holy Spirit Prep. The Boys Varsity Team remained consistent throughout the season with their victories.
On Wednesday, April 12, 2017, William & Reed Academy’s Varsity Tennis team competed in the GISA 1AAA Region Tournament in Peachtree City, GA.
William & Reed Academy’s Boys Tennis Team earned the GISA 1AAA Region Champion title. In addition, Britton Johnston (11th grade) won the Boys GISA 1AAA Singles Region Championship, and Harvey Maughan (11th grade), and Connor Evenson (8th grade) won the Boys GISA 1AAA Doubles Region Championship. William & Reed Academy’s Boys Tennis Coach, Carter McKenzie, received the GISA Region 1AAA Coach of the Year award.
William & Reed Academy’s Boys Varsity Tennis Team and two Girl Varsity Tennis players will advance to the State Championship to compete for the school’s first state title.
